Photography has been a passion in the Billone family for generations. In the early 1900’s my ancestors realized the value of preserving the past and family history. I am grateful for that since I can now look at a photograph from 1917 and see my father when he was 5 years old and the grandmother I never knew.
I have long struggled to find a niche, a specialty that was unique. My photography took me all over the map literally and figuratively so to speak, Travel, Wildlife, Still Life, Landscapes, every day stuff. Yes the photographs were good and people liked them but I needed more. The artist in me was not satisfied. As I looked through my collection I realized what really moved me were the photographs I took of Nature...Landscapes and Animals in their natural environment. Those subjects will be the emphasis of my endeavors. That is not to say other items will not appear but the focus will be on Mother Nature.
I had given much thought to changing the medium for prints. Moving away from the standard matted and mounted print to Gallery Wrap Canvas, Glass, Metal, and even Wood. While each has its unique properties good old fashioned paper designed for printing photographs still works best for me.
